Today, Phil Jackson appeared on The Dan Patrick Show to promote his new book that’s out today, Eleven Rings.

Phil says he was offered the job to be the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers and even started thinking about running the system with the team: he felt Steve Nash and Dwight Howard could pick it up easily and the team could get out of the Western Conference.

It also sounds like Phil was surprised to hear of Mike D’Antoni‘s hiring, especially after the knee surgery D’Antoni had just weeks earlier.

Phil also talks about the various comparisons between Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan.
