What an amazing end to an amazing game.
On a night where Wesley Johnson helped make Mike D’Antoni’s “small ball” strategy work to perfection against a bigger Portland Trail Blazers team, it was only right that he would end up scoring the game-winner, too.
With 7.1 seconds left in the fourth quarter and the Lakers trailing by one, D’Antoni drew up a sneaky play that was well-executed by Kent Bazemore, Jordan Farmar and Johnson.
Farmar screened LaMarcus Aldridge which freed up Johnson for the alley-oop. Bazemore then threw a perfect pass into the hands of Johnson who finished off the play and secured the victory for the purple and gold against one of the best teams in the league.
